New Postal Service Album

This last section of this post is very exciting, and much of the information is bound to change in the near future but… Postal Service has began to work on their second album. Postal Service is the collaboration of Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard and Dntel’s Jimmy Tamborello, and for all those emo kids whose groove flame is beginning to flicker and distinguish since Give Up in 2003, talk of a sophomore album is great news. Gibbard has spoken follow-up album in a recentPostal Service interview on MTV.com, in which he said, “We’re slowly starting. We’re crawling right now, and whether that crawl turns into a walk remains to be seen. But we’ll know more towards the end of the year. I’ve just been touring so much and trying to find time to make it happen and make our schedules line up.” Jimmy Tamborello has also commented on the band’s recent progress and has said that the band is looking to finish the album within the next year. He also has mentioned that he would like to see the female singer, Jenny Lewis, found on the 2003 release Give Up, to be more involved. Only two full songs have been recorded thus far, but the two members plan to get some serious songwriting done soon. Unfortunately no album title has been released yet, and no release date has been given. In fact there isn’t even a title of a track on the album out there yet. Essentially nothing is known about this album except for the fact that it is in the works, and that’s good enough for me.
